We Were Able to Extend And Coincidentally In Our Same Camping Spot
Originally, the holiday weekend was full but I checked today and noticed that our spot had opened up for the final weekend
What luck we have!! We thought that we were going to be heading back to Flying J ahead of the upcoming holiday weekend in less than two weeks. The entire campground minus all of the primitive tent sites was booked for the final weekend of the camping season.
I thought that we were going to be straight out of luck for that weekend and would just head back to the travel center and spend our final weekend before we head back out on the road to leave Western New York. Then today, something miraculous happened. A spot opened up.
The cool thing is that it wasn’t just any spot. It was the exact spot we’re in now. The spot we were going to be in any way until the 7th. That means that we won’t even have to move when I go back to re-register our site.
I was thinking that when I checked today, it would either still be full or I’d find a different open spot and would have to work something out with the campground to stay on-site during the transition.
As luck would have it, we were gifted the best spot on the campground until the entire state park camping season closes out. The great part about our current spot is that we are only one spot away from the water pump and literally just right across the bathrooms and shower.
We were close the last time we were here as the same bathroom was only two spots away but this time we are literally right across the men’s door so all we have to do is walk across the gravel road. This is great because we don’t have to worry about holding anything in too long and we have a convenient way to the bathroom at all hours of the day.
There is no flashlight needed. No wandering around trying to find the facilities. We are just right there. This helps my anxiety around the dark at night because it is fully lit over here too and won’t be dark outside for me at any point of our trek.
The other great thing about the timing and being able to stay is that the weather will be great for the rest of the trip. It had been raining and the weather pattern had seemed a bit unstable but now we are going to enjoy a forecast of mostly clear, sunny, and cool skies for the next 11 days.
We are still planning on going back to the travel center for a few days when we are done camping but now we get to stay put just a little longer and we’ll do it in relative peace and beauty and with fantastic weather. I will write another campground story with photos from the last camping trip of the year. Stay tuned, Digital Global Travelers. Until next time.
