Scale and thrive
Nowadays, for any business looking to not only survive but also to scale up and thrive, it is a must for it to have a social media presence. Email campaigns and content-rich websites alone may not cut it anymore.

The new global currency
Welcome to the age of social media! Social media for round-the- clock stream of information. Information. The new global currency. Information to be had at your fingertips. Information available even when you’re on the go.

Stay current
Remember the time when you’re itching for information but you had to wait until you can find a library and get a hold of the book you’re looking for? Or you needed to stay “current” but newspapers came only once or twice a week?

The huge and ever-expanding market
The takeaway here for everyone, especially the businesses is social media has more or less given us a captive audience: the young demographic potentially ALL OVER the world, the biggest consumers of products, services, and information.

A lot of upsides
Geographical barriers don’t really have much of an import anymore now. From almost all perspectives, this is absolutely an upside.

Another upside is feedback generation. Feedback is a great tool for decision-making. With social media, along with this IoT and AI revolution, the process of giving and getting feedback is now amazingly more integrated, interactive and in real time.

Oops, some serious downsides
The downside is organizations and businesses are now rendered more vulnerable to crippling backlash and even to malicious attacks. Social media has made it so much easier for people to take down anyone, rightfully or not.

Businesses are faced with the challenge of continuously raising the bar in all areas of their operations to ensure their customers are always happy. While it’s good for them to be always on their toes, the challenges are daunting needless to say. Surely, the market has expanded, but it’s also becoming more and more fickle by the day.

Social media can make or break a business.

Really fast.

Just like it can any individual’s life.
