I may have mentioned this before, but I base my travel recommendations entirely on personal experiences. Therefore, you won’t find lists of must-see museums, churches, or cafes in Zurich in my writings.

I write to share the general enjoyment of the city, whether it’s worth visiting once or multiple times, and regional and personal insights that you won’t find on every travel page. We don’t create to-do lists based on Google ratings. Of course, we visit a city’s essential squares and bustling areas, but we prefer to explore spontaneously based on our energy and fatigue that day.

Zurich became a last-minute addition to our travel plans. After visiting Strasbourg and Colmar for the New Year holiday, we found ourselves with extra time. Since our hotel was in Freiburg, a German city close to the Swiss border, we decided to take a day trip to Zurich.

First and foremost, a significant point to consider: if you use a European operator’s mobile network, you usually can continue using your plan seamlessly across European cities.
