Digital Innovation Group Spinout Spotlight: DexCare

For the past three and a half years, we have been internally incubating an important access optimization platform: DexCare.

COVID 19 has forced utilization and accelerated adoption of digitally-enabled care across all business lines, yet many health systems lack the critical infrastructure to make digitally-enabled care effective among their populations at scale. This internally-developed platform intelligently orchestrates and optimizes health system capacity and digital demand across all lines of care.

Pre-COVID Providence used the platform to power our retail platform, Express Care, and realized $100K savings in admin costs per clinic along with a growth of 30% net new patients, 73% of whom were commercially insured and therefore reimbursed at premium rates.

More critically, during the COVID crisis period, DexCare enabled the organization to flex from 90% retail to 90% virtual, within days and scaled during peak demand to meet a 30X increase in patient visit volume supported by a 6X increase in providers in days as well. It brought relief to our caregivers, our patients and the system as a whole.
