Should your business have a Facebook Business Page? Some argue now a days that Facebook is a dying breed, while others argue it’s a growing giant.

But who should you listen to?

From my experience a Facebook business page is a very important thing to have when you’re a business owner. As with everything, Facebook is not the cure all for every business. But, if you’re looking to build your brand, increase your customer base, and make more money it’s a great place to start.

Below I will share why I recommend every business to open, and stay active on your Facebook Business Page.

Now, before we start. You may argue that Facebook is not the way to go for every business.

And to that I say

You’re right! Nothing on earth is the cure all for everything, and in fact when you find the “cure all” please drop it in the DM!

But, Facebook Is One Of The Most Powerful Social Media Platforms To Decrease Marketing Spend While Increasing Customer Spending.

Facebook is doing great things with their native marketing campaigns. With how precise you can target your audience, it is allowing businesses all over the place to acquire MORE CUSTOMERS with the SAME/LESS MARKETING SPEND.

Take a look at this success story from Acura of Hamilton. They were able to decrease their lead cost by 81%, and increase their return on AD spend by 3x. See The Facebook Success Story Here.

Facebook Allows You To Hyper Target Your Customers.

One of the most powerful things about using a Facebook Business page is how specific you can get when running ads. It’s very important that when your business starts running ADs online that you really target your audience.

Depending on what is best for your business, Facebook has many objectives that you can choose from when marketing.

For example if your website is already set up to take leads than it may benefit your business to use Facebook to send traffic to your website.

Once you pick the Traffic consideration objective you will be prompted to create your ad. Here is where the magic happens.

First you will be able to target your audience. For the best results target people that you know are your customer. If you know that mostly Men from the age of 20–25 buy your product, target only them! It’s better to be more specific, then it is to be broad.

Use your past customers as a baseline to set up your targeted audience. For local businesses that stay away from online sales, or provide a local service it’s also a good idea to target your location.

After selecting the age range, and location of your customers you will be able to fine tune your targeting even more by using Facebook’s Detailed targeting section. This advanced targeting will allow you to search for customers based on interests, hobbies, activities, and even vehicles.

Being able to target your customers with so much detail really allows you to maximize marketing spend, while increasing your customer base, and brand.

Businesses that make the mistake of not targeting their audience can waste a lot of capital, and see little results. I mean think about it, if you’re trying to sell ice cream to an Eskimo then you may be in the wrong market.

Truth is just as you don’t go around the streets trying to sell cigarettes to children, is the same reason you shouldn’t target everyone with your online ADS.

When you have a Facebook Business Page your business will get in front of the right people online, and in my experience it usually cost less then other social platforms.

But What If My Website Is Not Set Up To Take Leads? Should I Just Give Up On Facebook?

Another thing that I love about having a Facebook Business Page is that it allows any business to generate leads with fast, and easy forms.

This AD campaign is set up so customers quickly auto fill their information into your lead forms when they are interested in your business. Facebook will auto fill their name, phone number, and even email address for your business to contact them.

Facebook lead generation campaigns are very strong for service oriented businesses. Real Estate agents, cleaning services, and construction services are a few that come to mind.

For service businesses that are setting up Lead Generation campaigns on Facebook you really want to make sure you target close to your business. Remember, it is better to be specific then broad.

It will get tempting when you see the big numbers of people your business could reach. Don’t be tempted, and stay true to your target audience, it will pay off in the end!

Yes, You Can Now Add Products To Your Facebook Page. This Means That You Can Create Your “Website” On Facebook, & Finally Take Online Payments.

Your Facebook Business Page is also a great way to sell your items online. Available for anyone that has a business page, Facebook makes it really easy to add items to your shop, set descriptions, change prices, and even have different sizes.

Facebook really makes setting up your store easy! Uploading your product images, and videos will be seamless. Just save your photos onto your computer, select the file, and you’re on your way!

If you’re looking to set up different sizes for each product you can create variants. Facebook also makes this process extremely easy for anyone to understand!

Side Note: When setting up your shipping method you may want to think about offering free shipping. People love getting things for free! Free shipping has been known to increase conversion rates. It may be worth a try. Here’s a great article about free shipping.

After adding items to your shop you will be able to set up a payment gateway and you’re business is now ready to sell online! It’s extremely easy to do.

As this blog is not about setting up your Facebook store payment gateway here is what Facebook says about setting up your online payments.

Starting Your Facebook Store Is Free, Making It The Perfect Place To Start Your Businesses Online Sales Without Investing In Expensive Platforms.

Now, before we get started on this, I do want to say that a Facebook Business Page should NOT replace your online website. It is most powerful for any business to have their own website, with their own branding on it.

But for some businesses the expense is too high up front. If this situation sounds familiar, you should open up your store on Facebook. What is the worse that can happen…

You have no online sales? You weren’t selling online before, so what’s the difference? Take the shot!

Earn Loyalty With Your Customers Using Facebook Engagement So That your Customers Keep Coming Back For More.

It is now the age of the digital customer. You can no longer expect your customers to just waltz into your store, pick up the items they need, and be on their way. It just doesn’t work like that any more.

Customers want to be connected with the business. They want to be able to ask questions about the product, and get answers in a timely fashion.

Your customer also wants transparency, and a relationship with the business they invest in. If your business is not doing this, well than…

Good luck competing with Amazon.

But, for those of you that want to engage your customer, using your Facebook Business Page is a huge asset. Click Here To See What Facebook Says.

Here are some great ways to use Facebook to engage your customer.

  • Talk to everyone that sends you a message. Customers love talking to humans, and even if they have a simple question you should respond! Simple things like this will build a great reputation for your business, and it shows the customer you really care.
  • Offer deals to your customer through Facebook. Post signs in your business, and tell your customers that you offer special deals exclusive to Facebook. When you’re slow offer a discount, or even a buy one get one coupon on Facebook. Your customers will love it.

Is Your Business Mobile Friendly? If Not You’re Making A Huge Mistake. Your Facebook Page Can Help You Bridge The Gap!

Not being mobile friendly is probably the biggest mistake that your business can make. Now as I said before, your Facebook Page should not replace your website. So if your business is not mobile friendly you should prioritize this immediately.

Now for the good news…

A Facebook Business Page is a great platform to use while your business is getting mobile friendly. No matter if you post product photos, add items to your store, or even make a video it will always be mobile friendly on Facebook.

Another great way to use Facebook to become mobile friendly is by taking advantage of Facebook Messenger. Many businesses today don’t have an online chat, and why would they? Many are expensive, somewhat difficult to set up, and you may even say it’s a waste of time.

But this is crazy!

Using Facebook Messenger allows your business to finally have an online chat service, and this is very powerful. Your online chat allows direct conversations with customers, and even allows you to provide online support.

No longer does your customer have to drive to the store to ask a simple questions, they just message you on your Facebook page. Once a customer messages you, Facebook will notify you about your message, and you can have instant customer service!

When you encourage your customers to message you on Facebook, and you actually respond back you will be amazed at the results it brings your business.

Does your customer need a tutorial video for a product?

Your Facebook page makes it extremely easy to record a video directly from your cell phone, and send it to the customer. Sending a personalized video message like this will give you a personal connection before your customer even come into your business, which will make it easier to close the sale.

Not to mention, other businesses are probably not using video like this, so you’re setting your business apart from the competition!

Use Facebook's Live Streaming Option To Showcase Your Product, Or Provide Real Time Customer Assistance. It Works Wonders.

Facebook makes it seamless to stream live with your business page.

It’s as easy as opening up your Facebook Page on your phone app, and hitting the Live Button.

Stream an online training course on how to use your product, or maybe a stream showcasing the benefits to your customer.

Another great way to engage your customers is to have a live an “AMA or Ask Me Anything” about your business.

These Are Just A Few Reasons Your Business Should Have A Facebook Page.

In conclusion, It is my opinion that any business can benefit from using a Facebook Business Page. As I discussed above there is no solution for every business. For some it may be stronger to use Facebook for website traffic. For others it may be better to use the lead generations.

or

Maybe it’s best for your business to use Facebook as a communication tool for your business. Running online streams, taking advantage of the chat system, and even sending videos to your customer will really help build a strong relationship with your customer.

Either way you look at it, using a Facebook Business page can be very beneficial for your business when used right.

But now comes the hard part.

You have to get out there and try something! Nothing will ever work if you don’t try it. Be creative, try everything Facebook has to offer, and see what works best for your business.
