Is Facebook About To Pull The Rug Out From Under Your Business?

There’s a song by a band called Fountains of Wayne, who are fabulous storytellers, which is called “Richie And Ruben.”

It’s about these two friends of the narrator who keep opening businesses saying, “we’ve got it made” but the narrator “still hasn’t gotten paid.”

When they talk about a bar they opened called Living Hell, for some reason it always reminds me of this sign that you can find on bars, pubs, and taverns everywhere.

we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone

This is what I immediately thought of when I read the new T.O.S. update from Facebook…

“We also can remove or restrict access to your content, services or information if we determine that doing so is reasonably necessary to avoid or mitigate adverse legal or regulatory impacts to Facebook.”

This one sentence added to Facebook’s Terms of Service means they can remove anything you post, advertise, or your personal and business accounts at any time for any reason.

This initially was in response to a new proposed law in Australia, but I think Facebook can see the writing on the wall and decided to just put in a blanket policy of “we reserve the right to
