The Joe Rogan Experience
When looking for a digital author to analyze and break down the work they do, Joe Rogan was an obvious choice, not only because of how entertaining his podcasts are, However how many different things listeners can take in, and put real life stories into breaking down theories. Now not a lot of people are fans of big conspiracies however “The Joe Rogan experience,” lets people travel their minds and think for themselves. This podcast is not like any other as it has interviewed people as famous as Elon Musk, to nature survivors and hearing about their stories. The topic of conversation doesn’t end and if one can speak, Joe can find a way to side with them and hear them out. One large topic from our textbook comes from Chapter two, however more specifically the section of why social media is important to people and society.
This podcast is a great definition of giving people the opportunity to learn rather than listening to something. He goes into many different areas whether it is psychological, physical, and real stories from people who have lived many different lives. In our current society we see people constantly scrolling on their phones whether it be TikTok or instagram. While information is achieved from this, many people blindly scroll looking to pass time in an entertaining manner. Listening to podcasts such as this one can teach people lessons and real life stories. Many people struggle to have a long enough attention span to listen to the podcasts however it is a good trait to build rather than only watching 20 second clips. It also teaches tons of history and how our world is being shaped from current day situations all the way to the past. Relating more to the book, we learn how much information people take in on a daily basis from digital media and this podcast is full of real life information from the craziest stories of all time.
A very important factor that this podcast offers is its versatile audience as the guests that are brought on the show all are different whether it be an athlete or a politician, anyone can listen. Joe has a way of getting information out of people in a friendly manner as he is friends with many of his guests. He makes them very comfortable and it is more like watching people hang out. Although they dive into many things some people do not want to talk about such as psychedelics and a dark past, but he also is a huge member of the sports world and a commentator in the UFC and has many fighters on the show to talk about there experiences they have had. That is the beauty of this Podcast as it has such a wide variety of listeners and many people can use their own ideas and have an experience.
When doing this project I found it somewhat difficult to use the screen recordning and it took me multiple attempts to finally figure it out.
