Dearest readers, I am sure you awaiting on the iconic Lady Wistledown’s latest secrets but the drama has been already given away in season two of Bridgerton on London’s elite bachelors and bachelorettes seeking their future partners. Though I would love to promenade (to walk in public, usually with a special someone) with the ton (the upper echelon of London society), I rather listen more to the drama that took place during season two Bridgerton.

The series Bridgerton follows the story of the elite Bridgerton family during their attempt to find love in Regency-era high society. This series was created by Chris Van Dusen, produced by Shonda Rhimes, and is based on Julia Quinn/s best selling novels. The family consists of four girls and four boys but the stars of the show are the oldest son Anthony (played by Jonathan Bailey), Daphne (played by Phoebe Dynevor), younger sister Eloise (played by Claudia Jessie), and widowed mother Violet Beidgerton (played by Rith Gemmell).

Living next door to the Bridgertons are the Featheringtons. This family features a mother Portia (played by Polly Walker), the three daughters Philippa (played by Harriet Cains), Prudence (played by Bessie Carter), and Penelope (played by Nicola Coughlan). Along with the three sisters, a distant cousin Marina Thompson (played by Ruby Barker) plays an important role in season one. Other important characters include Lady Danbury (played by Adoja Andoh), Duke Simon Basset (played by Ragé-Jean Page), sisters Kathani (played by Simone Ashley), and Edwina Sharma (played by Charithra Chandran.

Season one starts off with the eldest sister Daphne of the Bridgerton family was named the Diamond and was on the look for a suitable suitor. She ends up making a deal with her brother’s friend and also Duke Simon Basset. The two agreed to pretend each other’s suitor in the plan to draw more attention to Daphne but less to the Duke. To most surprise, the two catch real feelings for each other. Back in these days, it was forbidden to be alone together or share a simple kiss with each other. As you might guess, the two find themselves being caught sharing a kiss and was forced to marry. They fall in love, and actually end up wanting to marry each other and it was happily ever after but of course with some drama. We come to find out that Simon had made a personal vow to never marry or have children. This was due to the fact that his mother passed away during labor and his father was a royal jerk. Long story short, the two figure out their drama and end up having a kid together. Yay!

The second season focuses more on Daphne’s oldest brother Anthony. In this season, he is looking for a suitable wife but not actually true love. This is where the Sharma sisters come in Kate and Edwina. Edwina is declared the diamond just as Daphne was in the first season, and Anthony knows that he wants to end up with her. Kate is the loving older sister she is and is helping Edwina find the perfect man for her, and it is soon to be clear that Kate does not approve of Anthony. The whole season shows Anthony and Kate going back and forth between confessing their true love to each other or back to hating each other. Take a guess! In the end, they end up falling in love and getting married.

Overall, the show Bridgerton is very predictable. It is showing a very predictable love story between two people yet I still found myself binge-watching every single episode. Chris Van Dusen did the perfect job drawing the attention of hopeless romantics… a.k.a me! If it was not the love I was excited to watch, it was the suspensive drama regarding Lady Wistledown’s latest news post. In conclusion, I can understand why Bridgerton is one of Netflix’s most popular television series. I would one hundred percent recommend it to a hopeless romantic!
