Portfolio #2 Information

The key word that I was given to do my research on is “Information.” In Georgehegan’s reading, I learned that information was taken from the Latin word “informare.” The word information has evolved and gained different uses within decades, it all started in the 1920's. In Georgehegan’s reading it also says it “was manageable in terms of coding schemas adapted to the characteristics of the transmitting channel” (pg 173). Information was used only in certain aspects, but over time the word information gained its own meaning and became relevant in “philosophy, science and industries.”

Information is used everyday, in classrooms, work-life, companies and research. Without information a lot of facts would be hard to find. Within relationships, information helps you gain knowledge on other people and also helps you remember them. People become the way they are because of their past. Information allows people to understand their peers on a different level.
