Today’s morning session started with a crash course on feminism with Jimena Aguilar, head of MA Digital Narratives at the Internationale Filmschule Köln. Later, we prepared some questions to interview the people coming to see the play REVOLT. SHE SAID. REVOLT AGAIN. at the Freies Werkstatt Theater (FWT).
Arriving at the theatre, we had a nice behind the scene tour and a candid meeting with the crew. Later, after having some snacks, we watched the play. Although I couldn’t understand all the dialogues, the energy didn’t need words to impress me. And later, during an exclusive session with the humble actresses of the play, I was thinking once again about the question of having a meaningful job. I try to hesitate thinking about this question every now and then. But encountering true art always makes this question emerge in my mind again. Right now, I’m thinking working in a community like FWT is much better for one’s mental health and growth than working in a big company for all the implications that come with it.
Once again, we all recognized the power of presence in the physical world. Of course, we are not going to compete with the theatre, but we can help more people reach this place, and also make sure that those who reach, could expand their experience regardless of the physical presence.
I’m looking forward to how we’re going to come up with a meaningful and matching prototype for this excellent play and cool community.
