Today marks 3 solid months of life in Thailand for me. When I started on this journey, I wasn’t sure whether this kind of life could actually work. Work from anywhere? Sounds almost too good to be true.

While I had to prove to myself that it is actually possible in 2014, one guy knew it could be done. He knew back in 1974.

[Computers] will make it possible to live really anywhere we like. Any businessman, any executive, could live almost anywhere on Earth and still do his business through a device like this. It means we won’t be stuck in cities. We’ll live out in the country or wherever we please and still carry on complete interactions with other human beings as well as computers.

This is a quote from an interview with Arthur C. Clarke, which was recorded back in 1974 for Australian TV. I came across it today and I guess it documents one of the rare occasions, when a futurist actually got it right.

Pretty amazing and almost creepily accurate. One question however remains: What’s Jonathan up to these days? ;)
