A new benefit for collectors of Digital Objects

One of our favorite features of physical paintings is the ability for an artist to inscribe the back of the canvas. Whether the inscription includes a signature, date, edition number, doodle, or personal note, it’s like a secret message between the artist and the collector that adds to the personal connection between the two.

At Digital Objects we’re aiming to make digitally-presented art as appealing and collectible as physical art, and to that end we’re excited to announce a new feature which we’re calling “Back of the Canvas,” which makes reverse-side inscriptions possible for digital works.

Artists that choose to utilize this feature can provide reverse-side images that are unique to each edition of their artwork. Their piece can then be flipped around, revealing this reverse-side image. Only a collector who has purchased the artwork will be able to reveal this image.

Here’s a video demonstrating this experience, both for collectors and non-collectors alike:

If you’re an artist and interested in trying this out, you can apply to be considered for exhibition on Digital Objects.
