Every company strives to get as better search ranking as possible. It is a log job to explore all the SEO tips available, to come up with a SEO keyword strategy and to reach the desired rankings. SEO strategy should be changing with time, and as new content appears on the website, new optimization occurs. If a company can consider getting the help of an agency to develop a more robust keyword strategy — that can bring the amazing results.

The experience of an agency with paid and organic keywords gives them an advantage in building an effective SEO strategy for the organization. An agency will manage PPC advertising, identify the organic keyword opportunities and match those keywords to content for the company’s buyer personas. Why is all that important? Well, determining keywords is like buying bricks when building a house. The point of SEO is to rank for as many keywords, and not just keywords, but also as much possible phrases the company’s customers would use when searching for a product or service that can help them.

When determining which keywords to use there are several things to keep in mind: keyword difficulty, volume and current page 1 rankings. Keyword difficulty is a score that shows how difficult it will be to rank organically for a keyword. It takes into account the number and power of company’s competitors. A difficulty score lower than 80 is desirable and lower the difficulty is, it will be easier for the website to rank. A low volume of the keyword is not a problem if a company is in the niche industry so even the number of 300 people/month searching for a keyword is good, but in the broader industries a minimum number shouldn’t go under thousand people/month. The volume gives the clear idea of what people look for, and what they don’t. Exploring the first page of organic search results actually gives the company a clear picture of who are its strongest competitors. In essence, a keyword with high search volume and low keyword difficulty is what you want. The core intent of the keyword difficulty score is to determine how challenging it would be to get a first-page ranking by looking at who currently holds that position.

The next very important step is to perform a competitor and situational analysis. Competitive keyword analysis is one of the most effective ways to gain a crucial advantage over other businesses in company’s industry. As the company knows its competitors the best, it is necessary that a company guides the agency by letting them know what competitors to look at. A great competitor keyword analysis tool is a SEMrush. It allows the user to enter a domain of a competitor and see all the competitor’s website keywords regarding the organic rank. Again, The agency should be able to use a tool like this effectively. Always think of additional keywords! The more words a company can come up with, the stronger its strategy will become. It should use words on particular pages, plus similar and related topics.

Once the keywords are determined it is time for the optimization of the landing pages and their content around determined keywords with making them present within the written content. A company also needs to match the content on the page with the search intent of the chosen keyword in order to fulfill the search demands of its customers.

The strategy, and the website, should both be adoptable. Trends, keywords popularity, and search phrases change with time so once all the previously mentioned work has been done it doesn’t mean it is time to relax and stop. What worked 3 years ago may not work for you today so the key is having a team on your side to keep you ahead of your competition.
