Biggest trends for digital marketing in 2020.

While researching this topic, I came across a lot of trends that are expected to be even bigger in 2020: shoppable posts that will allow you to see how much an item some influencer is wearing costs, on a click of a button, that redirects you to a site where you can buy the same product.
There is also a trend of micro-influencers in which start-up businesses are investing to help themselves and ultimately build a better brand because of the trust their followers still have in them.

Another trend I have come across is Vlogging where influencers and businesses are increasingly sharing their lives and insights into behind the scenes. All of these trends, in my opinion, have no place in the 2020 future trends list.

Although they may be developing further, I think they have already reached a very high position in the US in 2019, and that the reason why people persistently put them on the trend lists is that we were born in an era where something new is being produced every day.

And again, similar to the previous one, that it is no longer easy for the naked eye to imagine the success of a product/service, nor to imagine what can be invented tomorrow and change the way we function and think.

For this reason, the only logical trend for 2020, from this point in time, is absolute automation with the help of artificial intelligence. Under AI itself, I include chatbots, programmed advertising, and maximum personalization, topics that I will touch on down below.

AI — Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is the future of every business, at least to the point where we need it. Some businesses can significantly accelerate and simplify their operations with easy integration. In addition, organizations want to integrate artificial intelligence as it will allow them to gain or retain an edge over their competitors, create new businesses and break into new markets…

Artificial intelligence can analyze user behavior and search patterns, use data from social networks and blog posts to help businesses find out how their users are reaching their products and services. One of the exciting examples of artificial intelligence in practice is chatbots, but more on that later.

MasterCard recently created a Facebook messenger bot that uses language processing software to decipher what a user wants and responds like a real person. If that's not next level, I don’t know what is. It’s an ordinary bot that is automated with artificial intelligence and embedded on Facebook. This bot already has so much information, knowledge and ability to completely replace the work of a couple of people.

Artificial intelligence will soon be a leading force for many services, and we are already seeing it implemented in areas such as ordinary communications, product recommendations, content creation, email personalization, and e-commerce transactions.

Enterprises that adopt artificial intelligence in 2020 will be able to reduce their spending on staff and accelerate growth and thus be ahead of the competition.

Chatbots

Speaking of wanting to be above competition, I am going back to chatbots. Chatbots will continue to be an essential part of digital marketing in 2020. This artificial intelligence-based technology uses instant answering to be able to talk to users in real-time, day and night. Although already seen in 2019, I believe that businesses will increasingly deploy chatbots to automate and optimize their businesses as much as possible. Chatbots are thought to be part of 85% customer support in 2020.

Some of the main positive aspects of a chatbot are 24/7 services, instant answers to queries and simple questions. The survey also found that 63% of users would rather interact with an online chatbot than with a company or a real person.

People are becoming more impatient so they don’t want to wait for the operator, call and talk to a real person or go to the store itself. They like to solve everything in the moment with the help of the Internet, especially if it is a simple problem. Just because the younger generations like to get everything right now, more and more companies will implement automation like chatbots that don’t cost them like the staff, and they do their jobs quickly and efficiently.

Programmatic advertising

So far, this has been more about how an enterprise can improve its business and its relationship with its customers in an organic way, and although it is extremely important to be automated, now we are interested in how artificial intelligence can be applied in advertising.

That’s where programmatic advertising comes in! Programmatic advertising uses artificial intelligence to automate ad buying and target specific audiences. An example of programmed ad buying is a real-time auction. This automation is much more effective and faster, ensuring more conversions and lower customer acquisition costs.

It is changing the face of digital advertising so quickly that according to eMarketer, 86.2% of digital display ads in the US will be programmatic in 2020.

Most manual advertising campaigns (even those run with professional tools) consider 3 goals: keywords, time of day, and location. Tools like programmatic advertising can use hundreds of targeting signals to make advertising more personal and enable lifestyle or user targeting when integrated with platforms that contain user information.

Conclusion

I think more and more people are moving towards automation because they think it is a way to go for the future of humanity as if no one has watched all those movies where robots rule the world.

In my opinion, automation will be one of the major trends in 2020 and can be applied to all parts of digital marketing.
