Introduction

Social media and media have certainly become an inevetiable touchpoint of current and future brands with their potential customers. Why? Because all the attention is there right now. People searching and watching content on social platforms every day. Apps like Facebook have over 2.4 billion active users that mean comapnies must have his own facebook page if they want to target right people for his business and communicate with costumers and potentional costumers to build relationships between each other. Youtube has over 2 billion users and it is strong platform for publication video content which is useful for companies to express their brand value and significance in the market. Instagram captures over 1 billion active users, this type of platform that is based on the images and creative designs comapny need to adapt their communication and content to get as much user interaction as possible and to keep them intersting. When we talk about social networks we have to touch on other social platforms as well.

Examples for marketing communication on social platforms

For example some of business need LinkedIn for communication and content strategy because they want to target different groups of people which are key to their business model as well as Twitter.

With so many figures, trends and attention focused on social networks, the only logical move for major brands was to join this new wave of communication opportunities. Advertising and other paid forms of marketing communications are not the only form of communication present on social networks. There is also public relations where companies and certain entites, such as presidents or minister of certain departments, carry out their “day-to-day” communication.

For example croatian minister of education Blazenka Divjak has her own digital team of special advisers who carry out day-to-day communication, reporting on the latest news related to her and her work.

In America, president Donald Trump personally runs his twitter feed of all sorts of nonsense. But unfortunately, social networks that allow Donald Trump to write whatever he wants also allow him to manipulate the economy and the price of dollars, which of course is prohibited by law and affects the lives of many people.

I think that the opportunities of important goverment employees should be limited to social networks as certain individuals can have a much greater impact thn they should.

Youtube story in Croatia

Youtube as a platform has enabled the development of various record labels such as Apollo, Bassivity, Balkaton and many more. Such record labels in the Balkans country have approximated the Western influence of music called the trap that actually came here after ten years of blow-ups across America. Trap in the Balkans today is masked by the guise of turbo folk beats, where local producers have seized the opportunity to “modernize” musical instruments with hip hop beats with blinking turbofolk tunes to create turbo beats. Turbo trep is just one of the examples that have emerged and spread thanks to social media and platforms like youtube or deezer.

Content for youtube from balkans youtubers

Content is very important nowadays, and so it became popular following western trends. Balakan are starting to record various content by building their personal brands as youtubers, producers or influencers. Mostly they do content that is fun to the masses and “drinkable”. In Serbia, the trend is most popular and currently the most popular youtuber is “Granny Pig” from Serbia. The first Balkan youtuber Nixa Zizu is one of the pioneers of the Balkan youtube scene and is one of the few who have tried to become fitness influencers in the Balkans, but the fitness industry in Croatia is nowhere near that of America or Central Europe. Pesonally, I do not follow that content and these youtubers but I view it as a local trend since this information is available under the youtube trendig chart.

Balakans clothing brands

Brands are emerging and growing up today, doing most of the communication on social networks. An example of such a brands are the Bomber and Chypka which are Croatian street fashion brands. Brands like this two are networking with local popular artists such as Klinac, Devito, Voyage and many more. These brands manage to maintain an enviable level of awareness among younger generation individulas who are more fashion conscious as these brands are among the most popular choices. This brands use power of social platforms like Instagram to be in touch with young population and to build a connection at an earlier age.

Balkans hospitality brnds

The hospitality industry, among others, is also well suited for social media and media presence. Local croatian restaurants as catering trades also choose to be present on social networks in an attempt to communicate with existing and potenital costumers.

Facebooks Libra project is the first blockchain project of such scalability and potential applicability. Implementing the Libra project completely and applying technology would make a giganic step for the development of blockchain technology. WeChat as a Chinese social network has set the standard in the modern advancement of social networks. Facebook could try to track WeChats footsteps and implemet the pay-as-you-go feature of the Libra project.

Conclusions

All in all it will be interesting to see where social networks and media will go in the future and how company will adopt new features and maybe new social platforms for their business.
