Digital marketing is one area that is constantly changing. Whenever a new social network or technology becomes available to the masses, it is likely that there is a way to use it for advertising. 2020 is no exception — social networks and solutions for digitizing and automating business and marketing activities will play a major role.

Here are some trends that are expected to mark the year that is just the beginning:

1. Shopping through social networks

2. Direct communication with users

3. The dominance of specialized influencers

4. Interactive e-mail offers

5. New Generation Social Media

6. Marketing Automation

7. Reviews create public opinion

8. Marketing will become more than just numbers

9. Google launches Gallery Ads

Shopping through social networks

I completely agree with this view because human attention, concentration and ability to hold thoughts about a product is getting weaker, so if we want a user to buy our product we need to enable it at that moment when it was seen and wished no matter what platform finds.

Direct communication with customers

Direct communication is something that is already being used and I think it will only grow and grow in the future. How long? Only heaven knows. Although, in my opinion, how good it is, so much is negative, because the buyer can get the impression that we are stalking him and violating his privacy, so we should be very careful in this field.

The dominance of specialized influencers

I don’t think this type of advertising is going to prove very successful because people have slowly started to realize that all things shown by influencers are actually paid ads. It will take time to see when it will work and whether it will pay off in the long run. Too many young people want to become an influencer and make some big money in some easier way, this will increase competition among them and more and more people will realize that this is just another type of business and over time it will lose credibility and thus reduce the profitability of advertising into that segment.

Interactive e-mail offers

As stated, this will really be the future, ie the trend in 2020.

The user does not feel like another sheep in a row because he receives emails that are personalized to him/her (just like we talked about in lectures and exercises).

This is a good way to gain trust because these emails are not generic and hard work, but rather a response to a customer’s interaction with our content and at the same time offer him only what he has researched and what he is interested in.

Next-Generation Social Media

The truth is that the future of advertising lies in social networks and less invasive ads.

What platforms these are will be shown by time, for now, Facebook and Instagram are still working well, and whether the primate will take over Tik Tok and how exactly it will be advertised on it has not been determined yet.

It mostly needs to think ahead and try to figure out how to reach that audience as well.

Marketing Automation

Following the advancement of technology, this is undoubtedly a trend for 2020, and probably beyond.

Marketing automation is necessary for easier monitoring of all processes, easier integration with other processes in companies, reduction of human error, easier and faster solving of problems and questionnaires of users, etc.…

We are definitely talking about a digital marketing trend that, while not without human hand and effort, will certainly be the future.

Reviews create public opinion

Even today, reviews, comments, forums greatly influence the opinion of customers and their purchasing decision.

The buyer trusts the ratings and criticism of other users rather than explaining to the companies about the products and services, partly because of their bad experiences with enhancing the value of the products and features, all the way to the frauds that have occurred through the advertising of them.

Therefore, it is up to the companies to be more honest and open to their customers in order to gain their trust and to successfully cooperate with them.

Marketing will become more than just numbers

With better tools, the ability to measure the impact of marketing, ie all its segments, is increasing.

Let’s also hope that companies will start to realize that marketing is not a waste of money but that it is actually an investment in the future and the improvement of sales and the creation of loyal customers, of which the company is generating profits.

Google runs Gallery Ads

Google Gallery Ads should be available to the general public as early as 2020. This is Google’s response to Facebook’s carousel ads, which will only run on mobile devices. Up to eight images will be displayed, along with a title and description, that will be displayed when someone searches for your product or service. Google has always pushed the idea of dedicated mobile campaigns whose benefits have not always been clear, but having a dedicated mobile advertising budget ready to compete to get that coveted first place and dominate the results page seems like a good strategy when it comes to this feature.

Definitely a good thing for advertising and that’s why I left the content off the page. This makes it much easier for you to advertise on mobile phones and take it to a whole new level. It will allow you to show images (ads) in a new and better way and connect to mobile devices, which is great because more and more things that users do are shifting to them.

Definitely a thumb up!

I think these 9 trends clarify the trends for 2020 in the field of Digital Marketing, but let’s not close this chapter either, because of the speed of opening up new technology-related opportunities, who knows what else the future holds.

From the use of AI in communication with users through to voice searches of the web and similar.

Wait and we will see! :)
