Bit, Master of the Arcane
Thybit was created in the dark world, Tenebrye. The people of this world are souls who passed on from the world of light but there are those who were crafted through the art of Soul Fracturing. The Tenebrye Mages were able to take fragments of lost souls and merge them into a new being. Thybit was created through this process using the souls of many mages, destined for power.
When Thybit’s existence was discovered by the Light, Caelia was sent to retrieve or destroy him. A singular being of such power was a threat to the Balance and had to be dealt with immediately. He was abducted as an infant and brought back to Illumnia for examination. Following the teachings of Arcyna and Leviathan, Caelia elected to spare his life and adopt him as her own. When she learned that Thybit’s creation and Hitendra’s birth, her daughter, happened simultaneously, she knew there was a great purpose between them.
Bit was naturally enthralled with all things magical. He spent most of his time studying runes, spells, and incantations of all varieties. He often found himself focusing on darker magics linked to Maldoria and Leviathan. The Illumnia Mages would mentor him in hopes of helping him find a better balance between all schools of magic. Though they weren’t sure why, Bit reminded them of their own mentors and friends, so they refused to give up on him.
They gave him a task to perform before he was officially named an Illumnia Mage. Just as the other Mages before him, he was to craft a staff that best represented him and the purpose he aimed to achieve. He spent many nights wondering what he should do. His mind wondered all too often to thoughts of conflict, thoughts that were frowned upon by the Illumnia Mages.
He went to one of his favorite places in the upper reaches. The Laws of Balance were engraved in the upper cathedral, serving as a reminder for those who would rule the land. Bit studied these laws in hopes for inspiration. He wished to serve the Balance like his sister, but something kept pulling him back. In the middle of his studies, a hooded figure appeared to offer aid. He offered to teach Bit the means to craft a legendary staff and all he asked for in return was that Bit used it as often as he could in service to the Balance. Bit eagerly agreed and went to work. His staff would serve to reflect the Old Gods and protect the balance. It could call upon Ornyc’s Light and protect him and others with a barrier of pure light. He could use Maldoria’s Wrath and summon shards of moonlight to destroy his enemies. Arcyna’s Grace would heal most wounds and Leviathan’s Patience could slow the world around him.
Bit would become a master of arcane and a Protector of the Balance.
