1, Never use your real name for anything.

It help to use an acronym or a nickname that cannot be directly associated with your. its a simple way of creating a barrier between you and the general publich that can only be accessed by those friends that know you well.

2, Check your Privacy Settings.

Facebook, Instagram etc all have privacy settings that limit your online prescence. it helps to be able to have control over your social presence especially if friends and family are tagging you left right and center. tag or untag yourself, hide your comments and keep yourself to yourself.

3, Location settings.

Many social media platforms now offer the ability to live track your movement in your day. this is very creepy. or useful, depending on what type of person you are. nonetheless, adjust your settings so you aren't giving away too much personal information.

4, keep your social circle informed.

your friends may or may not be tagging you in posts that you dont want to be affilliated with. tell your friends that you care, make sure they understand your boundaries and ask them kindly to mind your pricacy for you. :3

5, Seperate your personal life from your social life.

have a informal and formal email, a formal and informal social media platform and seperate accounts for anything that you might find to show yourself in a vulnerable light. just to ensure that when you need to look professional, youre completely ready.
