Being one of the biggest stars on the planet, she does not have to say much to get millions of fans talking.

Whether it was you that stayed up all night to watch the very first night of the Eras Tour (which I absolutely did), a friend of yours who could not stop talking about the horrible loss the surprise songs she played last night were or you double tapped one of her Instagram posts recently, Taylor Swift is not only Time 2023 Person of the Year, but she is the global popstar about whom everybody is talking.

Communication with Swifties:

As the mastermind Taylor has proven to be, it is a passion of hers to communicate with her fanbase by dropping “easter eggs” (hints about what is to come in her career). Whether these are by cameos in music videos or posts by Taylor Nation (Swift’s promotional team in social media) Taylor is achieving to have a large group of people paying attention to her moves to predict what is next.

As an example, before the launch of her fourth re — recording, 1989 (Taylor’s Version), when fans typed “crossword puzzle” in Google search bar, Swifties were able to complete puzzles (to which the solutions were song titles or phrases related with Taylor), and when a target was achieved, she communicated the titles of the five vault songs of said album.

Another example would be “Midnights Mayhem with Me”, in which she revealed the titles of the songs in her album Midnights by taking a bingo ball every day and revealing the track with that number in short TikTok videos, which was a smart move to boost her TikTok engagement rate as people would visit her profile frequently to check if she had posted the next one.

Eras:

Taylor’s iconic social presence has also been seen with the impact that her eras have in people. For instance, how many times have you heard one of your friends saying they are entering their “Reputation” era ? The meaning behind this is that after disappearing from the public eye for a year, Taylor made a legendary comeback by deleting posts on her social media (Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr and Facebook) as well as her profile picture to post a snake with dark aesthetic in anticipation of the launch of her sixth album “Reputation”, one that she has claimed to be a “goth — punk moment of female rage”.

This was a power move as quickly after the social media blackout, # TS6IsComing began trending worldwide on Twitter.

Although Taylor already possesses a substantial social media presence, she used to connect more with followers, for instance sharing how the Reputation Stadium Tour was crafted before starting, and she has a golden opportunity to do that with her Eras Tour.

In conclusion, Taylor’s presence is effective and influential, being the idol of teenagers and millennials, and she is never going out of style.
