Dreams Bring Eternal Happiness

Storytelling with interview (July 12, 2021

I had a amazing interview with Mr. Nirowz who is well known football player in the team Super Veterans Colombo. He is 49 years old, three children’s father and also a wharf clerk at Colombo Harbor.

He said he has been more interested in sports than education since he was a child. He has the ability to play a large number of sports such as cricket and badminton, but his favourite dream is football. His favourite football player is Cristiano Ronaldo and his favourite team is Manchester United.

He was very excited about his childhood football experience. He said it was different than what the current generation thinks. He belonged to a general middle-class society and at that time and his parents were not interested to sending him to sports. He was very proud to say that he learned football from his own. In his childhood he and his friends run, when they hear the sound of the police vehicle while playing football on the road.

When I asked him about his youth experience, he said that he had won many football awards and competitions. As a young man he had many opportunities, especially to train football with the Air Force, Navy and Police team.

I asked that “How do you set time for your dream after marriage and while caring children?”. His answer was “My wife and children have always been supportive and encouraging to me, and that is the secret of my success”. He also pointed out that a person needs the support of those around him in moving towards his dream.

The thing everyone realize by his story is, “If you have the will and desire, you can achieve success by learning from self-study”.
