The Story of Amritavarshini

With art depending on several factors: animation, rhythm, colours, and lights- digital media is already in itself a cultural microcosm of talent. What better way to celebrate Muthuswami Dikshitar, a true icon of Karnatic music, heritage and poetry!

Dikshitar was a man of many talents — a composer, veena player, singer and poet. With Tyagaraja and Syama Sastri, he made one third of the musical trinity. It’s only right that we use digital media tools to retell his story!

Take yourself on a journey to Ettyapuram, where Muthuswami Dikshitar’s powerful rendition of Amritavarshini is fabled to have made it rain!
