Rebuild the Internet

When I think of the internet, I think of a giant puzzle. It is like a puzzle in a few ways: it is super complicated like a 1000+ piece puzzle, it is a combination of millions of unique pieces, and sometimes pieces go missing or are unknown. In my efforts to recreate the internet, I took the puzzle literally. I got an old puzzle and painted a bunch of pieces differently. Before I started painting, I numbered each piece so that I could fit everything back together — easier said than done! Throughout the painting process, I would fit everything together just to see my progress. Here is a photo of my project partway through.

Unfinished Project

My recreation of the internet purposefully has holes in it. There are pieces of the internet that we don’t have yet or that need to be made — the Internet is unfinished. Below is a photo of my finished product. If you compare the two photos, you will notice that one piece is missing, and a few having different colors or designs.
