My main use of the internet, like many others around the world, is entertainment. When I go on the internet it is usually to play games, what Tv or a movie, or to get in contact with friends. There are many other uses for the internet now than there were 15–20 years ago. Now people have the ability to do their finances, shop for groceries, well shop for anything they could imagine! Though people mainly only use internet for the small bubble of things they need in their life, many are unaware the amount of services the internet really has to offer.

There is no direct meaning to the Internet or no direct purpose to it. Originally the internet was built to serve the military and allow scientists to communicate, but people quickly caught on and realized what they could start doing with this technology. This soon led to the entire planet being connected with one another using satellite and radio technology.

When drawing my figure of the Internet, I was not really quite sure what to draw or what even could represent it. In the end I realized I could ultimately treat it like a flow chart of decisions. This could be someone who has recently git off work and is going to relax, or picture yourself as a student who is trying to focus during these times where we have class going on remotely.

I always see the internet as a place that has a good and bad side to it and it is solely based off your usage and intentions to determine which side you will go to. The internet does a good job at making good things fairly easy to find, things that would benefit you, and the bad side pretty tough so it would take someone who is actively motivated to find the bad outside all of the good.

At the start of the Internet there were no regulations or anyone who said what could and couldn’t be done and this led to a massive spread of bad sites and connections that people good get to. Nowadays you have provate companies currently combating the freedom of speech in certain countries on a free online platform. The digital age has transformed due to the Internet and I have a feeling it is just getting started with all of the possible capabilities and we will be lucky (or unlucky) to see this throughout our lifetime.
