Facebook Launches New Dynamic Ads for Video Streaming Platforms

It’s fairly niche, but a relevant new Facebook ads addition either way.

Today, The Social Network has added new ‘ Dynamic Ads for Streaming’, which is designed to help video streaming brands showcase relevant titles to people on Facebook, in order to entice new sign-ups based on their interests.

As explained by Facebook:

“With Dynamic Ads for Streaming, when people see an ad for your service in their feed, they can swipe through the ad to see personalized, relevant titles they might be interested in, based on interests they’ve shown on Facebook and Instagram. Audiences can also follow your call to action to start a trial or subscribe.”

The option enables streaming video brands to add the titles of the content hosted on their service within the campaign set-up process. Facebook’s system will then use that list as a prompt to target users who’ve shown interest in each, by Liking a related Page, for example, or a fan Page of one of the stars, being a member of a related group, etc.

“Once an advertiser uploads their content catalog to Facebook, the dynamic ads deliver personalized recommendations, giving people a similar personalized experience they’re used to seeing from their streaming services.”

Facebook will also look to showcase a range of relevant titles to each user within this new ad offering, which could further entice new sign-ups. According to Facebook, most people try new streaming services because they want to view the breadth of the content available through that service, versus trying the service because they have one specific title in mind.

Facebook’s Dynamic Ad tools have become increasingly responsive, with Facebook’s systems now more attuned to individual interests, enabling Facebook to help marketers target users based on the things they engage with on the platform. The automated process takes a lot of the additional targeting onus out of the ad set-up process and can produce strong results based on system learning.

Again, this new offering is fairly niche, but Facebook also offers various other Dynamic Ads options which may relate to your business.
