DigitalBits founder, Al Burgio, is not new to the tech sphere. A serial entrepreneur, he founded Console Connect in 2011, and pioneered Interconnection 2.0, the means by which entities can bypass public Internet and interface directly with one another. Console Connect is part of the technological infrastructure on top of which cloud services the likes of Google, Amazon and Microsoft enable enterprises to directly connect. It was acquired by a large multinational corporation, PCCW Global, in October 2017, after which Burgio set his sights on blockchain. He noticed the growing chasm that had erupted between blockchain technology and use case. Startups were being shot out of the woodwork with white paper and ICO in hand, but the problem remained, there were very few projects addressing actual use cases. And thus DigitalBits was born, with the vision of supporting the blockchain industry with real-world use cases.

A creator of innovation and seeker of ideas, when asked, “why blockchain?” Al’s response was simple. “You can either read about yesterday, or you can write tomorrow.”

Al Burgio presents, “Crossing the Chasm,” at Blockchain Futurist Conference 2018.
