I Like Good Design ~ A Phrase

When talking about designs, a quote I often like to say is, “I like good design”. Even yesterday, when I was working on customizing my medium publications, I said the same thing.

Design in its most natural forms should be simplistic. People go all in trying to overly complicate user interfaces and it doesn’t need to be like that. Even for my Dribbble or on posts I have done in the past (take example the cover image for many of these blog posts), much of it is done on Canva or Pixlr.

Things as simple as picking a color to match the pattern of a banner, or changing the layout of a journal paper or creating a custom table of contents are all forms of design.

Even when you look at futuristic tech, lots of mechanical designers are trying to design electric cars with much less parts. Design in its future form, even with three dimensions and/or four dimensional interfaces, will still have lots of simplicity in many of its aspects.

Bad design is when thousands of things pop up in your face or too much is going on that the user gets confused and disgruntled. I think good design in simplicity, is a work of art.
