Most of the bloggers face with this question when they are looking for links to exchange (yes, links to exchange). They are assumed to know what does DA & PA stands for and what do they mean. DA is a score (between 1–100) that shows the quality of the domain from the eyes of search engines. Similarly, PA shows the quality of a specific page from the eyes of the search engines. This score is developed by MOZ and they provide a tool to learn the domain authority score of your website. Domain Authority is one of the industry standards to evaluate the SEO quality of a website which directly affects the ranking on the SERPs.

As mentioned above, exchanging links is one of the things bloggers do in order to increase the number of backlinks linking to their site which violates Google’s Webmaster Guidelines. As you can see not only exchanging links but also many other “easy ways” to get backlinks are defined as violations. Instead, Google values backlinks built naturally by you helping other humans with you beneficial content. MOZ recommends focusing on your overall SEO in order to improve your DA in the end. This also makes sense because you are helping other humans in a way by improving your websites on-page and off-page SEO aspects (ie. better mobile experience, faster page loading, clear images, videos that explains the topic of your content). As a summary, starting with generating beneficial content in your niche and having a SEO friendly website will improve your DA eventually. You can also check Neil Patel’s 2 week plan on his blog post which lists his “safe” methods for link building.
