For example, transportation makes our travel more and more convenient, which greatly saves our time; another example, computers allow you to know all the news without leaving the house. All these benefits are the technologies brought to our life.

The history of cloud computing can be pursued from the early 1960s. It was invented by Joseph Carl Robnett Licklider, an American Psychologist, and Computer Scientist. The concept of cloud computing developed when he tried to connect people and data regardless of the distance from a project called ARPANet(Advanced Research Project Agency Network).

In 1963, DARPA (the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) funded 2 million to MIT, and one of its requirements was developing a computer that can be used by multiple people simultaneously. It will be used to replace those gigantic, archaic computers using reels of magnetic tape for memory.

Today, the amount of data in the world was produced by approximately 44 zettabytes in 2020. That’s an enormous amount of data was being produced if we compared it to the past. That’s one of the reasons why cloud computing takes place.

Cloud computing is a technique that people can use to store data, use servers, databases, and more on the Internet. So, business corporations don’t have to buy any physical objects to manage data. Also, it is easier to maintain and protect data.

We can evaluate the definition of success behind cloud computing in three ways: market value, the total amount of users, and the popularity of cloud computing. According to the Grand View Research report overview of the estimated value of the cloud computing market size, which it states it has reached 368.97 billion dollars in 2021 and predicted a compound annual growth rate of 15.7% from 2022 to 2030. Based on the statistics, we can tell that cloud computing is an unneglectable and potential technology in now and the future.

In terms of the number of users, more than 3.6 billion users use cloud computing worldwide. In comparison, that is almost half of the human population. That states the popularity of cloud computing and its acceptance by companies all around the world.

AWS (amazon web services) is one of the most popular cloud providers. it provides email, storage, backup, and data retrieval, creating and testing apps, analyzing data, audio, and video streaming, and delivering software on demand.

There are many various benefits that AWS can provide to its users. For example, before cloud computing is invented, people can only access local data from their devices. But cloud computing provides its users the accessibility to access data from anywhere with any device as long as they have the account to access it. Another benefit is the users can have everything they need to set up and manage in one place, which reduces the time and money for a business.

For most businesses, especially small businesses, a suitable price with an extremely awesome performance is what they looking for. With cloud computing, organizations save a substantial amount from a long-term perspective. The reason for that is that everything is virtually set up. So, there is no need to maintain expensive hardware or a local data center.

Data storage is an important technique for computers in the past or even today. One of the earliest forms of computer storage was magnetic drum storage. The downside of magnetic drum storage was very huge and bulky. Unlike modern computer storage, older computer storage has very few and limited sizes of data they can store.

Although, the size of modern computer storage is very small and has a pretty large size to store the data. However, it is still not enough for modern applications and games, and the downside of it is it is hard to replace computer storage with a larger one. With cloud computing, the data can be stored virtually, and users no longer have to worry about the size of the data they will store in the future.

It’s not convenient to have a physical hard drive due to a few reasons; First of all, the physical hard drive in your laptop can only store locally, and unable to access the data if you don’t have the laptop with you. Second of all, the size of the physical hard drive is usually set up initially. So, it is difficult to store more data with a limited size. In AWS, you can set up quickly and access the online tools (database, servers, and more) anywhere.
