Google has built one of a kind global infrastructure, over the last 18 years to support 1 Billion+ users, now packaged to enterprises as Google Cloud.
Shift to cloud has moved from ops efficiency, cost optimization and scale, to value from data, predictions, experiences and connecting conventional platforms to external eco-systems, over a secure app, on a mobile devices.
Over the next several weeks I will try unwrap all Tech Mahindra can bring to Lowe’s as a Google Premier Cloud Partner, starting with Machine Learning, creating apps that can see, hear and understand the world around them.
Plug & Play — Google encapsulates powerful ML models in an easy to use REST API
Image Analysis (Vision API), It quickly classified images into thousands of categories, detects individual objects and faces within images, and finds and reads printed words contained within images.
Video Analysis (Video Intelligence API), makes videos searchable and discoverable by extracting metadata, use it to identify key nouns, and annotating the content of the video. Imagine searching every moment of every video file in Lowe’s 1000+ video library and find each occurrence of key nouns as well as its significance. Use Cases: Recommend Content, Contextual Advertising, Modernizing Content and its Archives.
Speech Recognition (Speech API), use it to recognize over 110 languages and variants, you can transcribe the text of users dictating to an apps microphone or enable command & control through voice among other use cases.
Text Analysis (Natural Language API), use it to extract information about people, places, events and more, mentioned in text documents, news articles or blog posts. You can also use it to understand the sentiments about your product on social media or parse intent from customer conversations happening in a call center or a messaging app.
Dynamic Translations (Translation API), it’s highly responsive, so websites and apps can integrate with Translation API for fast, dynamic translation of source text from the source language to a target language. (e.g., English to French).
Build Your Own Models
AutoML Vision is the first product to be released, from a suite of ML products that enable developers with limited ML expertise to train high quality models for your own use-cases. Bring in a few dozen photographic samples and cloud AutoML will do the rest. Urban Outfitters used it to automate the product attribution process by recognizing nuanced product characteristics like patterns and neck lines styles, helping customers with better discovery, recommendation and search experience.
