CEO’s Message — Rallying Call for DigixDAO Projects for 2020

First of all, we would like to thank everyone for their continued support and participation of DigixDAO. Delivering a message like this comes with a great responsibility, because this may be the final message that ever gets written about DigixDAO come next quarter.

Reflecting on the purpose and vision of DigixDAO has greatly motivated us in delivering this message to all DGD holders.

Looking back, when DigixDAO first began as a concept in March 2016, the long standing vision has always remained: anyone who believes in democratizing access to DGX gold tokens on the blockchain can effectively seek funding to build a project around it on the DigixDAO platform. The DigixDAO contracts were written, audited, open sourced and launched publicly without security vulnerabilities, and safely presented to the DGD community on March 2019.

Continual updates and refinements were made over the past 3 quarters, and we are proud to say that the platform itself has successfully spurred over 50+ projects that revolves around DGX gold tokens.

We fear that this experiment may not have been given sufficient time to materialize in its entirety, and a dissolution project, if passed, would render such a community driven project dead in its tracks.

By dissolution, there will no longer be a platform that would freely allow anyone to build this dream of democratizing access to gold as a community. The concern lies not so much on its dissolution, but the loss of an opportunity to scale the adoption for digital gold by way of enabling other projects and organizations to work on this vision together.

There are many projects and ideas that can come about on the platform we are still hoping to see over 3 quarters, such as

• Gamification platforms and Dapps that will utilize DGX to raise adoption and awareness
• Stablecoin projects backed by DGX
• Building a vertical for DGX, such as kickstarting a gold mine producing for DGX
• Liquidity projects on DEXes for DGX
• Campaigns and roadshows for DGX
• Extending the utility of DGD tokens, which can come in the way of creating a stablecoin backed by DGX and DGDs, or integrating DGDs as a staking discount token on an exchange platform for reduced fees
• Scalability projects that could involve moving DGDs and DGX onto its own chain
• Building / integrating DGX with DeFI platforms

To all gamers, coders, financially savvy analysts, engineers, miners, Dapp Developers, we openly call for your help in scaling the DigixDAO project. This may be the only opportunity that a system like this would exist to fund an ecosystem for gold tokens. Ultimately, DGD holders have the right to decide what they wish to see happen moving forward. A dissolution, even if passed, still presents one of the great merits of this experimental funding model, which is the ability to have it dissolved by the will of the majority.

We would once again like to thank anyone who was part of this vision since March 2016 and newcomers recently getting to know about the existence of the platform. Regardless of the outcome, and in the grand scheme of DAOs, every DGD token holder, old or new, is playing a significant part in this grand experiment of decentralized governance on Ethereum.
