3rd of July: Tribe Accelerator Singapore Demo Day

Tribe Accelerator, Singapore’s first government-supported blockchain accelerator, held its first-ever Demo Day at Facebook’s Asia-Pacific Headquarters in Singapore. The Demo Day is part of a global demo tour that will showcase the market-ready solutions developed by Tribe’s participating companies.

The Global Demo Tour will gather key stakeholders and leaders from global corporates, blockchain companies, government agencies. More demo days will also be held in Shanghai, Seoul and San Francisco.

Digix showcased the business-use case for authenticating and securing investment-grade gold bullion through blockchain. Consumers benefit from the added accessibility of purchasing gold digitally and knowing that the physical equivalents are safely secured in Digix’s physical vaults.

9th of July: Interview with Xin Hua News Agency

Shaun was invited to an interview with XinHua News Agency, the largest official news agency in the People’s Republic of China, with a network of 10,000 journalists, based in its 144 bureaus worldwide. during the interview, Shaun shared with XinHua News Agency the difficulties traditional financial institutions have whiling using blockchain technology, how blockchain facilitates data encryption and data sharing. Except for XinHua News Agency, other mainstream media from China such as Sina had expressed great interest and confidence in Digix and the Tribe Accelerator program.

11th of July: Tribe Accelerator Shanghai Demo Day

At Tribe Accelerator Global Demo Tour second stop — Shanghai, one of the international financial centers in China, we showcased our blockchain solutions to digitize gold to some of the world’s most forward-thinking innovators like Alibaba, Citi, ConseSys China, IBM, BMW, JP Morgan, PwC, Unilever, AXA, Fenbushi, McDonald’s China, SAP, Vechain, Zilliqa, Volvo Cars and many more. This Demo Day had successfully gathered key stakeholders and leaders from corporates, top-tier blockchain companies, government agencies from China.

13th of July: Seoul Community Meetup with Pundi X 한국 and MakerDAO

2. DigixDAO Updates

The DigixDAO entered Quarter 2’s Main Phase this week. In the first 4 days, 3 new projects were proposed to DigixDAO.

To start with, Digix founders have proposed a Special Project to shorten the DigixDAO voting phases as well as increase the max-cap on Ether funding per project from 100 ETH to 300 ETH. The commit phase for the above Special Project will last till 04:12 AM, 6th August 2019 UTC time.

The second project proposed this quarter is to list DGX token for spot, derivatives (options) and fiat conversions. The third project aims at promoting Digix in the Chinese community. It proposes to manage the WeChat community, as well as translate the social media on Chinese social media platforms.

So far around 408565 DGDs have been locked by participants in the DigixDAO smart contracts. If a participant from Q1 has not done any action in Q2, they would require to lock an arbitrary number of DGD tokens on the platform in order to continue participation into Q2.

At the start of Q2, around 697.7 DGX was added to the DigixDAO Rewards contract for participants to claim their DGX rewards. These were the DGX transfer fees collected so far and the potential demurrage fees collected so far. In the locking phase of Q2, around 49 different addresses claimed their DGX rewards for their participation in Q1, which amount to close to 491.4 DGXs.

3. The DGX Treasure Hunt

Get ready Treasure Hunters, for the first official internet search for DGX tokenized gold!

On 19th of July, we will release clues to a 66-character private key that, once discovered, you can use to unlock an Etherscan contract with 9.99 DGX gold tokens. The first treasure hunter to solve these clues and access the pre-loaded contract with their Metamask wallet will automatically receive the DGX gold to the digital wallet used to write the contract.

If you manage to solve all of the clues correctly, and you are the first treasure hunter to enter the 66-character key, the 9.99 DGX gold tokens will be yours!
