Gold and Alternative Investments Conference (GAIC)

Thursday, 24 to 26 Oct — Sydney gold market offers an interesting opportunity for Digix. It is one of the many regions that we have been paying attention to for the past year as we continue to see customers and DigixDAO proposals from Australia.

At this year’s GAIC, we noticed an interesting mix of the traditional bullion dealers, vault providers and new tokenised gold projects. It is worth mentioning that more traditional dealers are embracing tokenized gold projects as the digital gold market matures within the blockchain space.

Shaun Djie, COO and co-founder, had the opportunity to share on our Proof of Provenance (POP) protocol at the GAIC 2019. Digix’s Proof of Provenance (POP) protocol offers our customer the full visibility over the registry of our gold bars and all records of inventory audits. This provides our customers with the much-needed transparency and trust that are missing in the current fiat ecosystem.

DigixDAO Updates

Challenges on DigixDAO we need the community’s help with

The DigixDAO community aims to bring great ideas to life by staking their DGD tokens. However, there are times when the proposal can run into a dead-lock situation when a proposal received 100% approval yet its quorum does not need the minimum requirement.

Such was the case for this proposal to reduce the Quarter Points granted to Proposers for every Eth disbursed from DigixDAO.

Even though it garnered 100% approval from 200,000 DGD tokens, it was still short of approximately 200,000 DGD tokens to pass the minimum quorum of the proposal. As Digix founders do not have the requisite amount of tokens to pass certain high quorum proposals, we hope that the individuals who have locked their tokens exercise their rights to vote on projects to better improve DigixDAO.

We will see to relaunch another special configuration proposal early next week, and urge the community to vote on the proposal that would greatly benefit DGD holder incentives on the platform.
