Guide To Burning your DGD for ETH
This is a step-by-step guide to claim ETH at the end of DigixDAO’s final governance quarter. There are 3 parts to the process.
- Step 1: Unlocking your DGD
- Step 2: Approving Contract Interaction
- Step 3: Burning your DGD
Please note that you will require a recommended amount of 0.1 ETH to complete the steps. If you have not participated on our platform before, you will still be able to claim your ETH with your DGD on the platform.
Getting started
- Locate the wallet that contains the DGD to be burned.
- Ensure the wallet contains ETH (we recommend at least 0.1 ETH) as this is necessary to complete the transactions.
- Access our platform at https://community.digix.global.
- Select the language of choice on the top left corner.
5. Click on Proceed to load your wallet.
Important: We strongly encourage you to have at least 0.1 ETH in your wallet as this is necessary to complete the transactions.
To check the ETH balance, click on “VIEW ETH BALANCE” on the top right corner.
Step 1: Unlocking your DGD
Note: This step is only applicable if the loaded wallet has locked DGD in our platform. You will be taken to the next step by default if the loaded wallet has no locked DGD.
- Click on Unlock DGD and sign the transaction. This will unlock all DGD that have been locked with this wallet in order to participate in DigixDAO.
Step 2: Approving Contract Interaction
- Click on Approve Contract Interaction. This transaction is to approve the contract in carrying out the burning of DGD for ETH for the loaded wallet.
The completion of this step is required in order to proceed. If the transaction fails due to insufficient gas or is cancelled, you will have to redo this step successfully to proceed to step 3.
Step 3: Burning your DGD
- Click on Burn DGD for ETH. This transaction will convert all DGD in the loaded wallet to ETH.
And that’s it! You can now log out from the platform. If you have any issues with this process, please contact support through the platform’s help button located at the bottom right corner.
