Dignite Treatment Scheduler & Symptom Tracker For Cancer Patients
Post diagnosis we understand that undergoing treatment can often be confusing and a grueling experience. With an endless list of things to be done it can be overwhelming in the beginning.
We at Dignite spoke to several cancer patients and caregivers and found that the following 2 are the most relevant pain points while planning treatment.
- Making the most of Dr’s appointment: A patient might need to see several doctors such as an oncologist, surgeon, radiologist, etc during the course of their treatment. Each specialty doctor has different records that they review during consultation and can answer questions pertaining to their domain. Patients and care givers often tend to forget few important questions that they need to ask the doctor during consultation.
- Keeping track of Side Effects/symptoms: Side effects are common while undergoing cancer treatment and vary depending on the individual. There might be multiple side effects that impact the quality of life and you might not be able to remember all the necessary details to communicate the same with their Dr during their visit.
We at Dignite developed a Treatment Scheduler and Symptom Tracker to address the above mentioned problems.
How does Dignite Treatment Scheduler work?
The scheduler comes with above format which has all the relevant questions.
Reports to carry: To ensure that the all the necessary reports are included and arranged so that the Dr has all the necessary information to plan the next steps.
Questions to Ask the Doctor: Writing down 2–3 key questions that you need to know before a visit is useful as it helps get better clarity on the treatment.
Doctor’s Advice: Writing down key points on Dr’s advice in this sheet can be useful for quick reference in the future.
Few months down the line, all the necessary information related to your appointment would be available at a single source for ready reference.
How does the Symptom Tracker Work?
The symptom tracker comes with most relevant symptoms that patients face during cancer treatment.
All that needs to be done is to note the symptom on the top and against the current date rate the severity of the symptom 1 — affecting you the least to 10 — affecting you the most.
It helps to keep track of your symptoms and their severity so that you can covey the same to the doctor during your next visit.
