The Walking Dead Hikayesi
The Walking Dead adlı diziyi epeydir izliyorum. Zombi hikayelerine merakımdan değil. Her tarafından etler sarkan ölülerin etrafta dolaşıp tedbirsiz davranan insancıkları ısırmasından da değil. Bir yönüyle sevdirilen karakterlerin hunharca katledilmelerini açık açık göstermesinden hiç değil. Daha ciddi bir nedenle izliyorum bu (iğrenç) diziyi: Modern toplumun geldiği noktayı gayet iyi özetleyen bir hikayesi olduğu için. İnsan ırkının en büyük tehdit karşısında bile bir araya gelemediğini sembolize ettiği, yok olma tehlikesi karşısındayken bile birbirini yiyecek kadar akılsız bir topluluk olduğu gerçeğini en iyi anlatan yapım olduğu için.
Bilmeyenler için: The Walking Dead (kısaca TWD diye hitap ediliyor) türlü iğrenç sahnelerle dolu ama bir o kadar da merak uyandırıcı bir TV dizisi. Bu sene 8. sezonu yayınlanıyor. Zombi (yani öldükten sonra canavarlaşarak dirilen insanlar) dizileri yaygın olarak izlenen şeyler değil Türkiye’de ama bu diziye tamamen bir zombi kurgusu gibi bakmak da zor, daha çok bir felaket senaryosu denebilir. Hikayenin ana teması salgın bir şekilde yayılan Zombi virüsü dünyayı tamamen sarmış ve insanların büyük bölümü enfekte olmuştur. Küçük bir grup insan virüsten kurtulmayı başarıp yaşam mücadelesi verirler. Ama zaman içinde tek kurtulanların kendileri olmadığını görecek ve sadece zombiler ile değil kendi ırklarından olan diğer insanlarla da savaşmak zorunda kalacaklarını fark edeceklerdir.
Aşağıda sezon bazlı bir özet geçmeye çalışıyorum. Bitirince son kısımda kendi yorumlarımı da katacağım ;)
The Walking Dead Sezon 1
Sheriff’s deputy Rick Grimes wakes from a coma discovering a world overrun by zombies. After befriending Morgan Jones, whom he becomes separated from, Rick travels to Atlanta to find his wife Lori, his son, Carl, and his police partner, Shane Walsh, encountering other survivors. The group travels to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), but find from the sole remaining CDC member that no cure exists for the epidemic.
The Walking Dead Sezon 2
Traveling from Atlanta, Rick’s group takes shelter at Hershel Greene’s farm while they search for Carol’s missing daughter, Sophia. Tensions between Rick’s group and Hershel’s family worsen after it is discovered that Hershel has kept friends and family turned into zombies, including Sophia, in his barn. Shane and Rick’s friendship becomes increasingly unhinged when Lori reveals that she is pregnant, and Rick is forced to shoot and kill Shane in self-defense. The noise draws walkers, forcing Rick’s group and Hershel’s surviving family to evacuate the farm.
The Walking Dead Season 3
Eight months after fleeing Hershel’s farm, Rick’s group finds a prison, which they clear of zombies to make their new home. Lori dies in childbirth, and Rick becomes withdrawn. Meanwhile, Andrea is rescued by Michonne and the two discover Woodbury, a fortified town led by a man known as the Governor. He learns of Rick’s group at the prison, leading to conflict between the groups. Rick’s group eventually raids and destroys Woodbury, but the Governor has Andrea ultimately killed and escapes. Woodbury’s citizens live with Rick’s group at the prison.
The Walking Dead Season 4
Several months after the Governor’s attack, a deadly flu kills many of the population at the prison. The Governor finds his former right-hand men and kills them, taking over their group and destroys the prison. Rick’s group are forced to separate and flee, but not before Hershel and the Governor are killed. The survivors divide, face their own trials and meet new faces before finding signs pointing to a safe haven called Terminus. One by one, they reunite at Terminus, but all the group are captured for some unknown purpose.
The Walking Dead Season 5
Rick discovers the residents of Terminus engage in cannibalism, but the group manage to destroy Terminus and reunite. Some are injured and kidnapped to Grady, a hospital run by corrupt cops and doctors. When everybody regroups, they are approached by Aaron, inviting them to join a fortified community called Alexandria. The group are initially welcomed, but as the residents have not faced the zombie threat directly, Rick’s group starts to take charge. Morgan, who has been searching for Rick, arrives and is shocked to see Rick killing an Alexandrian, who has been abusing his wife, in anger.
The Walking Dead Season 6
The residents of Alexandria put more trust in Rick’s group to protect the town better. A group known as the Wolves use a zombie horde to attack Alexandria, and many lives are lost before the living regain control. While recovering, they learn of a community called the Hilltop, who offer to help trade supplies if they can end the threat of the extortionist Saviors led by a man named Negan. Although Rick’s group decimate one Savior outpost, they are later caught by Negan, and forced to swear loyalty to him.
The Walking Dead Season 7
Negan murders Glenn and Abraham to coerce Rick’s loyalty, demanding they surrender half of Alexandria’s supplies. Rick submits at first, but is finally persuaded to fight by Michonne. Meanwhile, Rosita and Eugene make a bullet to kill Negan. When this fails, Eugene is forcibly recruited by the Saviors. With help from the Kingdom, Hilltop, and Scavengers, the groups secretly plan how to dispose the Saviors of their power. The Scavengers turn out to be spies for Negan, and a battle takes place in Alexandria. War is declared between the communities.
The Walking Dead Season 8
Rick brings “All Out War” to Negan and his forces. The Saviors are larger, better-equipped, and ruthless — but Rick and the unified communities are fighting for the promise of a brighter future. The battle lines are drawn as they launch into a kinetic, action-packed offensive.
Up until now, survival has been the focus of Rick and our group, but it’s not enough. They have to fight to take back their freedom so that they can live. So that they can rebuild. As with any battle, there will be losses. Casualties. But with Rick leading the Alexandrian forces, Maggie leading the Hilltop, and King Ezekiel leading the Kingdom — Negan and the Saviors’ grip on this world may finally be coming to an end.
The Walking Dead Season 9
Büyük bomba: Artık ana kahraman Rick yok! Öldü mü ölmedi mi bilemiyoruz ama 10. sezonu Rick’siz geçireceğiz gibi görünüyor.
The Walking Dead Sezon 10
Sezon 10 takip etmesi de özetlemesi de zor bir sezon oldu. Sezonun tümünü Rick’siz geçirdik ama artık ölmediğine de kesin gözüyle bakılıyor. Bu sezonun en çarpıcı karakteri kötü kadın Alpha ve yürüyen ölülere hükmeden topluluğu Whisperers oldu.
The Walking Dead Sezon 11 (Final sezonu)
Sanıyorum en uzun sezon bu oldu; verilen aralarla beraber neredeyse 2022 yılının tamamını kapsayan final sezonu beklendiği gibi bitti: Son sahnede Rick Grimes’ı gördük ve ölmediğini anladık, Daryll onu aramak için ekibi terk etti, Negan ve Maggie fiziksel değilse de sözlü olarak hesaplaştılar, bir anlamda helalleştiler ve Maggie onu hiç bir zaman affedemeyeceğini ifad etti. Düşman topluluklar artık bir tehdit değil ama anladık ki tehditlerin de sonu gelmedi, gelmeyecek.
Yapımcılar TWD’dan türetilmiş yan (spin-off ) dizilerin hazırlıklarına başladılar bile.
Kişisel olarak yıllar sonra ancak bu sezonun final bölümüyle başardığıma memnun olduğum bir konu var: “İğrenç bir dizi!” tanımıyla 11 yıldır TWD’yi görmezden gelen kıza arkadaşım final bölümünü benimle izledi ve şöyle dedi: “Aslında fena değilmiş…”
