Step 1 (12/21/21): Final VIN Orders
We are honoring our commitment to give priority access to all the people who signed up early, so everyone who input a VIN to App.Dimo.Zone as of 12/21/21 will receive an email with a code to preorder their device(s) one day before we open up general public ordering.
If you previously received an email to order the hardware and have not yet ordered, we recommend you do this in the next day before the store opens to the general public!

Step 2 (12/22/21): Open Ordering
Tomorrow we’ll completely open up shop.dimo.zone, our storefront for the DIMO x AutoPi Miner.
Vehicle Compatibility
Due to the projected initial token rewards we do not recommend buying an AutoPi if you have a Tesla or a car older than 2012, and we are not allowing orders outside the US and Canada yet.
All cars with an OBD-II port will be able to use some of the connected vehicle features, but token earnings will vary by make/model/year as well as other factors like location. You can read more about how Demand Signal is created for token earnings here.
What does capacity look like?
We have a total of 4,500 hardware devices secured for the first half of 2022. We expect to have 5x capacity for the second half of next year. (This is roughly 2x as fast as Helium network growth in the first year).
Keep in mind, we also have SmartCar, a dedicated Tesla integration, and the potential for other hardware as connection methods for cars on deck for 2022. We have a big, bold target of 100,000 connected cars next year, and we believe between these methods, that’s doable, but we will need YOU to help.
How many devices can I order?
A wide distribution is key for making DIMO successful. So we’re limiting to 2 orders per checkout. You can come back to the store and order more devices, and if you have a larger fleet, please reach out here.
Can anyone with any car order?
Any car newer than 2011 is officially supported by DIMO x AutoPi. We’re no longer sending out codes that will stop older cars from ordering, but we are NOT promising support or rewards for those vehicles. Remember: all vehicles will have access to connected vehicle features like trip tracking and other DIMO apps, but data sharing rewards will be vehicle-specific.
Tesla owners should NOT order this hardware. A dedicated Tesla integration is coming, and we’re exploring Tesla specific hardware. The joys of building universal applications across automakers.
When can we order outside the US or Canada?
We’re working to make DIMO available in additional markets in late Q1 next year.
