Chocolate is one of life’s simplest but finest pleasures, get ready to indulge in the intense flavours and many delights of premium, artisanal chocolate at the return of The Chocolate Festival, with a Willy Wonka twist!

Here are some of the phenomenal chocolatiers you can look forward to seeing there:

  • Alexander Avery Fine Chocolates — After returning from training with top chocolatiers in Europe, former financier, Alan Clegg set up a chocolate kitchen in Cape Town, where he could explore the best quality chocolates and exciting flavours. You might recognise him name as featured on some dessert menus of some renowned restaurants in Cape Town.
  • Beyers Chocolate — Beyers Chocolates is a family business whose products are handcrafted using traditional Belgian methods. They are constantly creating fresh, exciting flavours and develop limited editions and special, unique recipes.
  • Cocoa Fair — a bean to bar Cape Town based company that makes a selection of handmade truffles and gourmet chocolate bars.
  • Honest Chocolate is a local artisanal Bean to Bar chocolate company. Their delicious chocolates are handcrafted from the best quality organically produced ingredients!
  • Huguenot Fine Chocolates — Business partners Danver Windvogel and Denver Adonis are Belgian-qualified chocolatiers whose boutique chocolaterie, located in Franschhoek offers a delicious range of chocolates, made from the finest imported Belgian chocolate.
  • Valrhona — has been producing the world’s finest chocolate in the small village of Tain L’Hermitage, France since 1922, creating a range of unique and characteristic aromatic profiles by perfecting techniques for enhancing the flavour of rare cocoa beans.
  • Winston & Julia — a small artisanal chocolate company passionate and dedicated in producing good quality chocolate and chocolate products. They use ingredients that are found in nature reflecting the their commitment to being natural.
  • Zang Chocolate — the first chocolate in Africa to add function to delight, as pleasurable a recharge as one could ever hope to have. Zang has a coffee-like-kick that gives you an extra bit of a boost.

With plenty of other exhibitors, there’s no shortage of things to do, taste, drink and enjoy at the festival including a chocolate fountain, artisanal chocolatiers, confectionery makers, ice cream vendors, chocolate-themed movie screenings, live bands, gin, bubbly and wine tents, craft breweries, charcuterie, cheese stalls and much more.
