DINE4SIX is a social dining platform that utilises the dinner table as an inclusive meeting point for strangers to exchange ideas, make new friends, and enjoy curated dishes prepared by the best chefs.
Our mission to create a safe space and empower individuals to build meaningful human connections by sharing stories and mouth-watering (dining) experiences with strangers propelled us to host events within four major cities in South Africa: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Pretoria and Durban and extend our reach abroad in Dallas and Dublin where we brought our vision to life.
Our vision to become the top of the mind platform to meet new people over a quality dining experience in a safe and comfortable environment anywhere in the world fuelled our desire to rapidly test new markets. The pandemic however knocked the wind out of our sail and we had to find an alternative route for our diners to meet new people safely from the comfort of their homes.
We hosted virtual events where our diners could meet other socialites and foodies online whilst playing their part in flattening the curve. We successfully disrupted the notions of social dining and curated inclusive experiences, keeping people together through tough times. With the remaining virtual events to see off the end of the year, we’ve hit pause so we can implement learnings we’ve gathered to make our platform even tastier and look forward to coming back with a bang.
Sometimes in life, you have to risk it to get the biscuit and that’s exactly what we did. As a young startup we put all our resources into testing proof of concept with the sole promise to disrupt the hospitality industry. Sadly, we maxed out our cookie dough and would like to partner with an investor who similarly wants to scale a dynamic social dining platform internationally.
