Building Lasting Connections at the Harvard Global Networking Night

Throughout the years, networking has been used as a powerful tool to connect people. To expand, explore, and connect — the Harvard Alumni Association hosts a biannual event that aims to do just that. Every January and June, Harvard clubs and associations around the world gather for the Harvard Global Networking Night (GNN) in their respective localities. This event is open to Harvard students, alumni, and their guests.

Last June 12, 2017, the Harvard Club of the Philippines participated in this global event by hosting its Harvard GNN at a whisky and cigar bar called 1824 in Discovery Primea, Makati. The venue was dimly lit and cozy enough for guests to be able to carry good conversations.

A great range of diversity filled the place as guests poured in and, by 9:00 PM, no corner was left unoccupied. May it be for reconnecting or simply connecting, each person had someone to talk to while sipping either a lowball glass of whisky or a tall glass of wine.

An event like this shows how strong the Harvard alumni community’s connection is. Since the first GNN held in 2008, the event’s participation has managed to grow to almost 90 alumni clubs worldwide. As the numbers continue to increase each year, the bond among Harvard alumni continues to strengthen.
