Sierra Martin was in the fifth grade in the 1990s when her mother took advantage of the minority to majority transfer program to move her to a high achieving elementary school in the northern suburbs of Macon, Ga. While Sierra is grateful for her mother’s efforts, she says the experience was not without obstacles. Hear more from Sierra below.
