Disc 2017 locations
DISC2017 is a four day course that will explore “Fundamentals and Applications of Electromagnetic Geophysics”. In first day (DISC course), we will showcase case histories collected from local professions. For instance, below figure is a Helicopter GPR case history from ETH Zurich.
Using this as a hook, we link this back to fundamentals of Electromagnetics (EM) to guide understanding of this method, and proper use in practice.
In following 3 days will be a DISC Lab. With a smaller group (~10), we will discuss local interests from the participants, and introduce open-source tools (e.g. EMgeosci, GPG, SimPEG, …) to help solving their problems. Outputs of these discussions will be uploaded to the web with participants’ agreement.
We have rough idea for our world tour! as shown below map. Green markers are places that our schedule is set. If you want to see us and learn about “Fundamentals and Applications of Electromagnetic Geophysics” please visit our website: http://disc2017.geosci.xyz/ , and register!
