Here are five hearty Dungeness crab recipes you can make for a comforting meal.
Garlic Crab Noodles
Quickly kill the crab by cutting it in half without cutting through the top shell (this ensures no stress hormones will come out during the cooking process). Then steam for 10 to 13 minutes upside down. After cooking, immediately put on ice. Then work on the noodles.
Boil spaghetti noodles (1 pack)
Saute 10 to 15 cloves of crushed & minced fresh garlic in 4 tablespoons of butter
Then add:
2 tbsp of oyster sauce
1 tbsp of soy sauce
1 tbsp of fish sauce
1 tbsp of sugar
Note: Mark’s ratio is usually 2:1:1:1, but you’ll probably need to adjust for taste. It has to be a good combination of salty and sweet, and also keep in mind you will need to have enough to coat all the noodles.
After all the ingredients turn to a brown color, add 1/3 cup of the boiled water from the crab and your noodles, and then add noodles and set the stove on high. (It’s good to shake the pan and toss noodles so they don’t break)
In the last 20 seconds of tossing the noodles, add 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese.
Plate and serve with crab and sliced scallions on top.
