IDAGIO launches in Japan and announces live concerts in the Global Concert Hall
A world-class lineup for Symphonic and Chamber Music Concerts
To coincide with the live video stream of the Vienna Philharmonic’s subscription concert in IDAGIO’s Global Concert Hall on June 21, 11 am CEST, we will for the first time be available in Japan. This international expansion will give music lovers in Japan access not only to IDAGIO’s Global Concert Hall, launched just three weeks ago, but also to its groundbreaking audio streaming service: a classical catalogue of over 2 million tracks in CD-quality sound distinguished by superior metadata, a search tailor-made for classical, and expert curation.
With the Global Concert Hall, audiences across the globe can experience the thrill of attending one of the Vienna Philharmonic’s subscription concerts in the legendary Golden Hall of Vienna’s Musikverein. They can either join others around the world to watch live or catch up with the concert any time in the following 24 hours. For what is only the Vienna Philharmonic’s second subscription concert after a three-month silence imposed by the COVID-19 outbreak, Franz Welser-Möst will conduct a programme rooted in the history of both the Austrian capital and its most famous orchestra, featuring works by Franz Schubert and Richard Strauss.
Further events scheduled for live streaming in the Global Concert Hall include a Schubert symphony cycle conducted by Zubin Mehta with the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, with concerto appearances by soloists Daniel Barenboim and Leonidas Kavakos.
The IDAGIO audio streaming catalogue offers audiences the most complete audio library of the Vienna Philharmonic, with the orchestra’s commercial catalogue supplemented by playlists curated by the orchestra and a series of exclusive live recordings — conducted by such artists as Christian Thielemann, Valery Gergiev and Christoph von Dohnanyi — available only on IDAGIO.
