On the full moon day of Pausha, the Jagannatha triad are worshipped as Kings- today is their coronation. Since it is Jagannatha’s coronation, people believe that all gods visit the temple today, in one form or the other. After that, all gods gather near the Mahodadhi, where the sea is ritualistically worshipped. The style of dressing is somewhat different, and the best robes and jewels are used.
