We asked our Land Economy students just what they think “Land Economy” is all about. Here’s what they had to say about this unique undergraduate degree.

“A mixture of law, economics and geography.”
-Izzy, 1st year student at Jesus College

“A hybrid of the sciences and arts, combining theories of economics, aspects of law and concepts of human geography and real estate, backed by fundamental skills of statistics and mathematics to help with both qualitative and quantitative studies.”
-1st year student at Fitzwilliam College

“A mix of different faculties, such as law and economics, to form a well-rounded perspective in policy making or current affairs.”
-Russell, 1st year student at Pembroke College

“A study for the future. Although it’s ‘advertised’ as a mixture of Law, Economics, and the Environment (all of which is completely true), Land Economy is much more than that. My experience in the first year has not just covered the disciplines listed above, but also has given me opportunities to explore Statistics, Mathematics, Legal Methodology, Urban Planning, Development, Sustainability, and Real Estate. All of the various disciplines studied as part of the course are exceedingly relevant in order to tackle the problems facing the world in the near future.”
-Nayan, 1st year student at Gonville & Caius

“The best course anyone could choose.”
-Victor, 2nd year student at Downing College

“A combination of Mathematics, Economics, Law and Sustainability, with fundamental application to real estate.”
-Edward Tillson, 1st year student at Selwyn

“A unique mix of law, economics, maths and geography, applied to real world situations. It’s a hugely relevant degree to the issues surrounding us today. You can relate what you’re learning to the real world which is very important to me.”
-Rebecca, 1st year student at Murray Edwards
