DOMI is the Latin word for “at home”. “DOMI is a problem- solving company, to make our homes better places for our children and next generations,” explained co-founder Corey Lien. DOMI uses existing technology to reduce the industrial burden on Earth. B Corp is the leader of a global movement of people using business as a force for good. Being the first certified B Corp in Taiwan, DOMI conducts a series of children’s environmental-education activities and tree-planting parties to plant seeds of sustainability within the hearts of the next generation.

DOMI was the first certified B Corp in Taiwan and is the only innovative social start-up that promotes environmental protection from an energy-conservation prospective. B Corp originated in the United States and is a global movement of people who are using business as a force for good. To be certified, DOMI went through a very stringent impact assessment evaluating its positive performance on employees, suppliers, communities, and corporate values to ensure that DOMI is able to raise market competitiveness, create true positive influence, and accomplish altruistic concepts.

With the aid of Project Rising Star in Green Innovation for SMSs’, DOMI successfully designed an energy- conserving timer socket together with a picture book about environmental education. After reading through the story, children are able to identify energy- consuming monsters that are hiding in homes or schools, connect these monsters to the specially designed timer sockets, and help save energy.

The business model of DOMI is simple. By measuring baseline portfolios of energy consumption and planning mitigation actions for enterprises, DOMI uses a certain percentage of profits from each LED-light-converting project to plant trees. On one hand, the reduction in energy consumption and the use of LED lightbulbs lower carbon emissions and alleviate environmental burdens. On the other hand, the tree-planting activities further disseminate the concepts of environmental conservation to clients and young minds, in the hope of bringing positive changes for the environment and society in the future.

Other than pioneering LED-light converting projects, DOMI is expanding its innovative services to green marketing programs for corporate social responsibilities of enterprises for corporate enterprises to evolve their commitment to environmental sustainability. Aiming to bridge enterprises and the socially disadvantaged groups, DOMI has a variety of social-welfare packages for enterprises to choose from, each focusing on cutting down energy bills for the less fortunate. In addition, DOMI conducts employee training courses for enterprises to reinforce their corporate images and cultivate recognition from within to assist enterprises in successfully implementing energy-saving initiatives to protect the environment, save money, and retain talent.
