Harvest Link International Co., Ltd. — Exporting office furniture utilizing innovative eco materials to top international markets(合富國際股份有限公司)

With a passion for office furniture and accessories, Hsu Chuan-fu, the founder of Harvest Link International, saw his dream and left Singapore to start up a company in Taiwan. The durability of stylish design and good quality in a product has transformed Harvest Link from a trading company to an office furniture manufacturer. Utilizing innovative eco materials in products has broadened the company’s international market share for the past 25 years. This foreign entrepreneur has demonstrated to the world that made-in- Taiwan (MIT) products are of quality and innovation.

Design capability and high quality are the two key issues for Harvest Link’s successful entrance into the international market. Hsu explained, “To sell in the European and US markets, products equipped with stylish design, high quality and safety features are the basic requirements. The most challenging part is product stability, consistency, and a 5-year product warranty!”

During the start-up period, instead of grabbing easy-to-make generic products to meet the surging demands of south-east Asian countries, Hsu focused the R&D resources on developing high quality, top standard, stylishly designed and innovative office furniture and accessories. After actively exhibiting these products at international markets, Harvest Link secured large international orders. As of now, export orders account for more than 90% of Harvest Link’s annual sales.

In recent years, many international regulations have focused on chemical safety in both product and production to minimize the risks to human health and the environment. As a result, Harvest Link has invested efforts in materials and production processes to ensure the paint, iron pipe, and boards meet the international environmental standards to be recyclable, renewable, or eco-certified.

Recognizing the growing global trends in seeking green products, Harvest Link has been searching for sustainable materials in product manufacturing. With the assistance of ‘Project Rising Star in Green Innovation for SMEs’, Harvest Link utilized recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastics into a raw material suitable for lamp shades, dividers, wall décor and celling décor for home and office settings. The recycled PET material boasts the characteristics of shock and sound absorption, and Harvest Link’s unique design further enhances the appearance of this eco material. Harvest Link devotes a lot of R&D resources to green product development and applies for international environmental certificates. However, Hsu still believes that quality is the most significant key to green production: after all, a long-lasting product is best for the environment.
