Thirty years of enthusiasm — Bae Jin Seok’s story
2020 is ending with a special milestone — the two-thousandth ÄKTA device has been successfully installed in Korea. Bae Jin Seok is the Korea Service team leader and the engineer who installed and tested the first ÄKTA Explorer in Korea in 1996. The ÄKTA anniversary coincides with a personal one for Jin Seok, who celebrates 30 years of working for what is now Cytiva!
Jin Seok joined Pharmacia as a service engineer in 1991, but he never expected that he would stay in the same organization for the rest of his career. With so much knowledge to learn, great customers to partner with, and many ongoing opportunities to develop both himself and the team, Jin Seok continues to contribute to Cytiva’s fast growth in the local market, as well as the rise of Korea’s bioindustry.
Jin Seok says: “Thirty years ago, the standard for being a qualified service engineer was product expertise and timely response. But now, we’ve raised the bar to deliver beyond our customers’ expectations. The whole Korea service team are GMP experts and able to provide customized consultancy based on our customers’ various demands.”
Working for a promising company in a growing industry keeps fueling your passion for your daily job,” says Jin Seok. “I clearly remember that we sold the one-thousandth ÄKTA in 2012, almost 16 years after the product entered Korean market, but from 1000 to 2000, it has taken less than eight years. I am confident this pace will continue to accelerate.”
