The news has broken

Two years ago, I never would have imagined it was possible to accomplish everything we made happen. I felt fortunate enough to find amazing co-founders to chase a dream with, but then before we knew it, we were actually in a position to build out technology that could change people’s lives.

It felt like the impossible was happening around us, and at times we sincerely asked each other if we were dreaming.

We were dedicated. Like so many startup founders before us, we became our work. Our team grew in size. We gained traction in partnerships, and we even managed to ship our Mainnet (making me a very proud CTO).

Then came the crypto winter

We invested heavily in engineering. We didn’t spend haphazardly. We moved carefully and with intention, but ultimately we moved too slow reacting to the bear market. The value of our treasury retracted quickly, and we had to scale back our operation. With limited runway ahead of us, we started to considere alternative futures for Dispatch.

If I’ve learned anything in the past two years, it’s that success is created by great people driven by shared values.

So we sought out to join forces with another team that shares our belief that distributed technology will drive us towards a more globally-unified future.

Late at night on July 23rd, the asset-acquisition of Dispatch Labs was finalized by Perlin.

Perlin has one of the first functioning implementations of the Snowball consensus algorithm released anonymously by Team Rocket earlier this year. And they’ve secured some significant deals in the world the international trade and commerce sector (including partnerships with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and others).

We’ll be working together from this point onward to marry the technology, business partnerships, and revenue strategies of our now unified organizations.

Personally, working with the Perlin team feels to me just like working with Dispatch did back at our peak. The energy is high, the tech holds priority, and there are fantastic opportunities ahead.

I sincerely want to thank every single supporter who has helped us in our journey so far. We absolutely could not have done it without you, and I really hope you’ll join us as our journey continues.

With all my heart,

Zane Witherspoon
