Motorsport Manager — New DLC and Free Content Update
Good news for Motorsport Manager fans, as new The Challenge Pack DLC will be out on Monday August 21st, 2017. And you can save 10% by pre-ordering it. The DLC will give you 12 new challenges inspired by the history of motor racing. But even if you don’t want to buy the new content, you’ll also get more in-depth features for free as a number of additional options come in the free The Devil is in the Detail update.
The Challenge Pack DLC:
Rather than necessarily simulate real-life motorsport events, the new challenges use them for inspiration. For example, there was a proposal to add race sprinklers. So if you want to experience the joy of racing with a set of artificial wet patches, you can. Or find out how you’ll cope if a factory fire stops you from manufacturing new parts. And there’s potentially the most realistic proposition — ending up with a lead driver who happens to be the son of the Chairman.
Not that the rich and undeserving often end up with careers racing cars and motorcycles…
The challenges are split into the three Rookie, Pro and All-Star levels. And can last for a single race or a whole season. So you can pick and choose which to try.
The Devil is in the Detail Update:
The free Motorsport Manager update will bring a number of new features into the game. That should increase the tension. You’ll get access to lap charts, but also have to now deal with dynamic driver mistakes. So how will you react when your star racer accidentally launches himself across the gravel, or runs wide?
You’ll also be able to use a new weight stripping mechnaic. That means you can reduce the weight of new parts, increasing your performance, but potentially hurting reliability. The balance between lightweight race cars and making it to the chequered flag has been something integral since the very start of motorsport. Look at vintage race cars and you’ll see how parts were drilled for lightness. And sometimes failed as a result.
Finally there’s the much needed ability to save and load car setups which will make life much easier for motorsport managers in the future.
